Ink does not dry by itself / Ovens generate extreme heat
With heat-set printing, hot air driers are used to dry the ink. This process is counter-productive, as the paper loses a high proportion of its natural moisture, and therefore, its original properties. The relative humidity of the printed material drops from 40% to under 10% in a short period of time.
Excess drying, or excessively dry paper has an adverse effect and a negative impact on productivity and quality. In today's competitive world, no one should be unaware of this type of problem.
Weko offers a versatile, economical solution to remove the unwanted effects of heat-set printing.
The proven solution / The RFS re-moistening system from Weko
Direct integration and reconditioning in contemporary heat-set printing presses.
With Weko re-moistening systems, printed material recovers its natural moisture after drying. The web is moistened on both sides such that the original characteristics of the paper are fully recovered. As a result, all problems with drying the paper are prevented, and productivity and quality are improved.
The modular design of the RFS re-moistening system means that it can be fitted directly onto the cooling rollers on heat-set presses. No extra space is needed, neither does it lengthen the path of the paper web.
Weko-RFS offers the following advantages.
- Improved productivity.
- No static electricity.
- Does not cause problems in the folding machine.
- No jamming in the compensating stacker.
- Improves quality - pages do not adhere to each other and staples do not fall out.
Weko-RFS has an innovative design.
- Sprinkler, not a static sprayer.
- Removes laminar flows.
- Applies moisture uniformly.
- The solution is inserted on the web.
Rotor moistening system / A technological success, proven in practice
Without exception, Weko products have exceeded market expectations. Rotor moistening technology ensures that the liquid flows uniformly over any type of material, with no mechanical contact. In addition, the parameters applied can be reproduced whenever required. The high-speed rotating discs spray an extra-fine film onto the web.
